Product-focused storytelling is an essential part of product management. It’s the act of telling a story that best highlights your product and its value to customers, using facts and data as support. There are 3 main points you should always include in product-focused stories:
1) A Problem – This is usually one sentence only because the problem needs to be precise. The goal here is not to provide all possible information but rather present it simply so readers can quickly understand what they’re getting themselves into.
2) Your Product – Now that the reader understands there’s a problem they need solved, tell them about how your product solves this specific issue or satisfies their needs. Again, keep it simple with only 2 or 3 points.
3) Your Product’s Story – What makes your product different from the competition? Why should customers choose you over others? While this isn’t always applicable, it can be beneficial to include.
In conclusion, product manager storytelling tells product stories to get their products and companies ahead.
