Male STD Test: Different Types Of Tests

Male STD Test is an important part of staying healthy. They are also available in many different forms and can be done for many reasons.

These STD tests can detect several different types, including Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, HIV, Syphilis, and many others. A male STD Test is also a good idea for any sexually active male who has not been tested recently or ever before.

This article will review the three most common STD tests in men:

1) Urine Sample

The most common type of Male STD test is the urine sample which checks for STDs in this manner:

The Male STD patient will urinate into a cup, and then the sample is taken back to the lab.

Once in the lab, they check for Chlamydia or Gonorrhea with standard tests typically used by Doctors’ offices. If both are negative, this STD test can be considered Negative as well.
If one of them comes up positive, there may also need to run further testing on other samples from that individual, such as blood work or swabs from their throat/rectum, depending on what type of sexual activity was engaged in recently.

2) Swab Test

Another screening many doctors use when testing for chlamydia and gonorrhea by taking a swab sample. This is done by using a cotton swab to take the selection from the area to analyze it in the lab.

Once it has been collected, this type of test can be completed in the office, allowing results back quickly if no further testing will need to happen based on that doctor’s policies.

3) Discreetly Tests

Finally, some discreet STD test kits can test for seven common ones. This will make it easier for someone who does not want to go to their doctor’s office or feel comfortable doing so. These tests are done at home and then sent in the mail using a postage-paid envelope already included with this type of testing kit.
