Blue Hole Cenote Belize is the best swimming spot in Central America, and for a good reason. This Cenote is located near Blue Creek Village, which is a small town on the outskirts of Lamanai. It has an average depth of 15 meters (49 feet) and a maximum of 33 meters (108 feet). The Blue Hole was formed by water erosion from rain seeping through limestone deposits over thousands or millions of years. This Cenote is a great place to swim, snorkel, cliff jump, and explore. You can even make your way through the Blue Cave from one cave opening on top of Blue Creek Hill to another near Blue Hole Cenote! To get there, you’ll need to hike up Blue Creek River for about 45 minutes, but it’s worth it. The entrance fee into this National Park is $15 per person (less than $20), which gives you access all day long if you want to come back later in the day or spend an entire weekend here exploring what else Xunantunich has to offer.
